Valve Manufacturer Using PTA Equipment And Hardfacing Services
Our client is one of the leading names in the manufacturing and supply of valves for the Oil & Gas industry. Over the past year, they have purchased approximately 9000 lbs of material from Deloro Stellite in response to a ramp-up in production due to increase industry demand. Recently, the PTA Equipment they use in conjunction with Stellite® alloy materials for hardfacing their valves, failed. This led to two critical questions for our client: How would they fix their obsolete PTA equipment, and how would they continue to fill the orders in their queue?
Deloro Stellite came up with a solution that would answer both of these questions. First, we took the machine out of service and replaced the critical components. This repair process took about 2 weeks to complete. At the same time, the client also sent their tooling and ball valves to the Deloro Stellite facility in Goshen, Indiana, where the Coating Services team was able to temporarily assume production for the customer, using our own PTA equipment, while the client’s was being serviced.
In two weeks time, all repairs were finished, all production had been maintained, and the customer was able to seamlessly resume production – saving thousands of dollars in lost revenue. Deloro Stellite is committed to utilizing all of our resources to ensure that the customer needs are met.
